WellSharp Live is IADC’s distance learning training delivery option for all WellSharp Drilling and Well Servicing well control courses. The virtual training option was launched on 4 May 2020 as an alternative solution to support our training providers and the oil and gas workforce with the necessary training protocols during COVID-19 travel restrictions. This option continues to allow for instructor-led delivery, an interactive learning environment, and real-time quality monitoring throughout the course. Online proctoring services are utilized during course assessments.
IADC is continuously working to enhance program integrity.
The following are updates to the WellSharp Live requirements:
1. The previous extension of WellSharp Live, scheduled to end 31 March 2021, has been lifted. Training providers can now offer virtual training as a permanent delivery option for WellSharp courses.
• Training providers previously granted approval do not need to complete and submit a new exception form.
2. Restrictions on trainees eligible to attend the WellSharp Live course have been removed effective immediately. All trainees are now eligible to attend virtual training through an approved WellSharp Live Training Provider regardless of trainee certificate expiration date.
