Dart Valve
A spring-loaded device that serves as a type of inside BOP. The dart valve is dropped into the drillpipe and becomes seated at the bottom. Fluid can be pumped through the device, but it is designed to prevent a kick from flowing back up the drillpipe. (It is also called a drop-in check valve.)
