Golf Blowout for Shriners Hospitals a Success
On September 14, the 19th Annual Wild Well Golf Blowout tournament raised a grand total of $105,000 for Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The day began with beautiful weather and a special National Anthem supported by a color guard made up of representatives from the Kingwood Police Department to honor law enforcement and first responders.
Superior Energy Services CEO Dave Dunlap spoke at the auction, applauding participants for their donations and efforts to assist Shriners.
Shriners Hospitals for Children patients who attended the event also spoke at the auction, thanking the participants for supporting the hospital and the children.
One of the many highlights of the day came from the sight of the speedy Garia luxury golf carts, which are made in the same factory as the Porsche Cayman and Porsche Boxster and reach speeds of up to 30 mph. Last year’s auction winners of the premier golf package enjoyed use of the Garia for the day. However, the lucky drivers did offer joy rides to a chosen few.
Golfers enjoyed two courses of play at The Clubs of Kingwood, who hosted the event. On the Island Course, teams sponsored by Expro Group and Fritz Industries came in first and second place, respectively. On the Lake Course, teams sponsored by RSD Supply and Taylors International came in first and second place, respectively.
Lynn Hebert won the golf cart raffle and drove away in his new customized golf cart.
To date, Wild Well has raised a total of $1.68 million dollars for Shriners Hospitals for Children. Shriners works to improve the quality of life for children with burn injuries, neuromusculoskeletal conditions, and other unique needs.
