Deeprange Subsea Plug and Abandonment Tool

A recently published article in Oilfield Technology highlights the Wild Well DeepRange rigless, riserless subsea plug and abandonment (P&A) tool, an alternative to traditional P&A operations that can save customers millions of dollars through the use of its unique approach.

Compared to 2013, both Wild Well and BTI greatly improved their year-end total recordable incident rates (TRIR) by exceeding the 10% decrease required by SES. CSI has a TRIR of 0.0 for both 2013 and 2014.

In the article, Wild Well Marine Vice President Martial Burguieres discusses the advantages of the industry-changing tool, focusing on its seamless interaction with the Wild Well 7Series intervention system.

Certified to a depth of up to 10,000 ft and a maximum working pressure of 10,000 psi, the DeepRange tool employs a resilient binary plug comprising resin and cement, developed along with CSI, to increase the likelihood of a successful test as well as overall long-term effectiveness of the operations.
